Herbal hair rinses have been around for centuries and is one of the easiest ways to incorporate some holisim into your TLC routine. Herbs applied topically can offer a range of benefits, including promoting hair health, enhancing shine, and providing a pleasant natural fragrance. All herbs in the Locsturizer Hair Tea are organic, ethically sourced, and pesticide free .
When creating this product founder Elli Marie was very intentional with it being a multi-use product that can be used three ways. You can drink it as a tea, infuse it in your favorite oil, or brew it and use it as a leave in hair rinse on wash day.
Drinkable Tea:
Use an infuser or tea bag of choice to keep the herbs together. Steep for 5-10 min in hot water. Add sweetener of choice. The tea is very herby with floral undertones and a hint of mint.
Hair Tea Rinse:
Steep for 5-10 min in hot water. Allow to cool and pour over your hair after shampooing and cleansing. Does not have to be rinsed out.
Herbal Oil Infusion:
Place the herbs in a clean, dry glass jar and cover them with a carrier oil such as jojoba oil, coconut oil, almond oil, sunflower oil and olive oil. Seal the jar tightly and let it sit in a warm, dark place for a few weeks (minimum of 4 weeks, the longer it sits the more potent it becomes), allowing the herbs to infuse their essence into the oil. Shaking daily can help with the extraction process. Once infused, strain the oil to remove the herb particles, and voilà—your herbal oil infusion is ready for use in various applications, from massages to skincare.
